INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT
In the first semester of year 4, I participated in the Interdisciplinary module. Together in a team with Engineering and Architectural Technology students, our brief called for the design of a collaborative student centre extension to Munster Technological University, that offers educational and recreational support to students.
Our design stemmed from the concept of "student growth", examining the ways in which the student develops during their time at college both socially and skill-based. Thus, the design for the Collaborative Student Centre adopted a tiered form, representative of this idea.
Working together with other disciplines provided an introduction to industry life, also allow us students to clearly understand each others and our own roles in terms of design and construction.
